Peace Coffee is delicious, clean and grown only by farmers we know and trust—and who trust us.
Peace was actually started by a non-profit to aid farmers. It took wild optimism, guts, and a little crazy to get us here. We still need it for the changing climates of weather and culture we’re facing today.
Our farmer partners provide courage as well as coffee. I’ve sat beside friends and colleagues as they’ve shared stories about going into hiding for defending their farming communities from the Shining Path in Peru or lost family members in civil wars and uprisings.
They didn’t give up. They grew.
We have the privilege of partnering with those working to overcome systems that are stacked against them as peasant farmers–governments that at best don’t care about them or worse, are warring against them. All in a world that has way too much going on to pay much attention.
I look back on how far we’ve come as a company and the
changes I’ve seen as a queer woman CEO. I know I am not ever
going back to a place where I feel afraid for people to know
who I am. No one should.
Not every day will be easy. During times of change, we all need
anchors and energy. And yeah, sometimes that literally is a
good cup of coffee.
We certainly don’t have all the answers, but here are the
things we’ll keep doing at Peace Coffee:

Uphold our standards of exceptional taste, quality and equity.
Tell a story about the world and our community that is rich
and vibrant, open and accepting. One based not in fear but in
possibility.
