Cold brew or cold press? Either way, cold brewing yields a super-smooth, utterly tasty coffee concentrate. While most shortcuts sacrifice quality, the Toddy Brewer lets you have your cake and eat it too. Follow these 6 easy steps for how to make a cold press that yields a delicious coffee concentrate ready to mix up hot or cold coffee drinks at a moment’s notice (be sure to check out our recipes and video below).

Time To Make The Coffee

How We Brew

You Brew You

  • If you don’t have a Toddy brewer, you can make cold brew in a large resealable glass jar or just about any food-safe container that you can cover tightly.

Step 1: Prep Toddy Brewer

  • Insert the stopper into the bottom of the brewing container from below.
  • Wet the felt filter and insert it into the bottom of the brewing container from inside.

Step 2: Add Coffee

  • Pour the 12 oz. bag of Yeti into the Toddy Brewer.

For 1 lb of coffee, the instructions remain the same, simply substitute 72 fl oz (9 cups) of water

Step 3: Add Water

  • Add the water in two steps, letting the coffee bloom after each addition. As always, the focus is on making sure that all of the grounds are saturated,
  • DO NOT STIR (stirring can result in a clogged filter)
  • If there are still dry grounds on the top, gently press them below the surface with the back of a spoon.
  • Cover with a lid and steep in the refrigerator for 8-12 hours.

Step 4: Release the Brew!

  • Remove the stopper and let your coffee concentrate flow into the glass decanter. This step typically takes between 10-20 minutes depending on your brewer.
  • Store the concentrate for up to 2 weeks in your refrigerator.

Step 5: Pour and Enjoy!

  • Since this is a concentrate, mix your intended beverage 1:1 with water, milk, or your preferred liquid.
  • Enjoy your glass of scientific magic and marvel at life’s mysteries.
  • We prefer to drink our Yeti cold brew in the sunshine with our morning muesli.
