Director of Coffee
How did you find your way to Peace Coffee?
I wasn’t sure what to do after I graduated from college. I remember stalking Peace Coffee’s website… but it took a few more years to get here. I started at an organic certification agency that worked with a few local coffee roasters, then moved onto a green coffee importer, and finally to Peace Coffee! I’m happy to say that the world of coffee challenges, caffeinates and mystifies me on a daily basis.
What's your favorite fact about coffee?
It’s not so much a fact, but it amazes me to imagine the many, many people it took to get this wonderful cup of coffee that I am currently enjoying into my hands.
What's your dream job if you weren't working at Peace Coffee?
It doesn’t exist, but it would be a full-time student that somehow has no debt and can make a living by going to school. I’m the nerd that hated to miss school when I was sick. Until I find someone who wants to pay me to rack up multiple college degrees, I’ll stick to trying to accumulate as many random facts as possible.
What's your favorite pairing with coffee?
A perfectly ripe banana, a warm summer morning, and a sun-filled porch.
If you could have coffee with anyone, living or dead, who'd it be?
My great grandma who lived to be 100! I’d love to hear her discuss her life and how much the world changed over her lifetime.
Where are you to be found when not at Peace Coffee?
Usually at home with a good book and my dog, or in the summer outside in my yard.
What's your favorite fashion faux pas to commit?
I find myself more and more often using Minnesota winter weather as an excuse for my outfit. This habit has caused me to leave the house in sweatpants and somehow justify Uggs as a reasonably fashionable.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
Italy would be at the top of my list for food, culture, and art. Or a nice, relaxing beach vacation with a good book, my husband, and a whole lot of sunscreen.
