What’s your favorite fact about coffee?
Each roasted pound of coffee is the result of one plant’s harvest for an entire season.
What’s your dream job if you weren’t working at Peace Coffee?
Owning a vineyard/hobby farm.
Tell us something no one knows about your job.
I feel like a worker at the end of each day, when I see all the boxes full of1# & 5# bags of coffee stacked up on a pallet. When they’re all packed up they collectively weigh more than I do, and then I cart it all out to the hall for pickup.
What’s your favorite pairing with coffee?
Guat dark, black, prepared in a press pot, at home on the weekends with brunch (egg/veggie scramble, tahini toast, a mimosa, and a couple sausage links).
Where are you to be found when not at Peace Coffee?
Usually at home with my critters.
How’d you find your way to Peace Coffee?
After drinking strictly Peace Coffee at home for 8 years before I accepted this job, I can safely say my recommendation to try our coffee is not as an employee, but as a caffeine addict. Our mutual love of delicious premium coffee beans, fair trade practices, and bicycles made Peace Coffee and I cross paths many times over the past decade. Ivoire pointed out a job opening casually to me one day, and after reading the description, I thought to myself, “I do all of those things”, and therefore applied!
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
Patagonia, Argentina. That’s where one of my birds’ species is from and I think it would be amazing to go and watch thousands of birds who look just like him as they’re nesting on the side of a cliff. It’s where they should be, in the wild.
What music keeps you going while at work?
I am an MPR junkie while at work. It’s hard to find me without my headphones on, and save maybe a handful of days out of the year, I’m always listening to MPR.
