What’s your favorite fact about coffee?
What’s your favorite pairing with coffee?
A day off and a good book.
If you could have coffee with anyone, living or dead, who would it be?
My great grand-parents. Never met them and would love to hear the stories of where they lived, who their ancestors were, and how they escaped the Pogroms in eastern-Europe to arrive safely in Minnesota to set in motion the causes and conditions that have allowed me to live what is in so many ways a grace-filled and abundant life.
Where are you to be found when not at Peace Coffee?
I love going on walks around our beautiful metro area. Some of my favorites spots: Robert’s Bird Sanctuary, Fort Snelling State Park/Pike Island, Afton State Park, Minnehaha Creek, Coldwater Spring, Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge. But I also love walking through neighborhoods, both my own and also less familiar ones.
What’s your favorite fashion faux pas to commit?
Coffee stain on my shirt..it shows how excited I get when drinking Peace Coffee!
Anxiety and a Big Heart.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
Too many places to name; I better start booking some trips!
What is the best bike ride you’ve ever taken & why?
I took a young man from the inner city to ride on the Luce Line trail west of the cities. Cruising through broad open spaces, with fresh air and beautiful landscapes, and not having to worry about cars…I think it was a revelation for him (and me) about biking as freedom and not just commuting.
What music keeps you going while at work?
My coworker Magdalen has a 9-hour Spotify playlist for working which is INCREDIBLE. On my own, I listen to a lot of instrumental music while working: John Fahey, Alice Coltrane, Thelonius Monk, Winged Victory for the Sullen, and Spotify’s “Lo-Fi Beats” playlist.
