What’s your favorite pairing with coffee?
I have always liked dark chocolate with red wine, and some of our Ethiopian coffees have wine-like qualities that work well with dark chocolate. Chemex pourover Ethiopian Yirgacheffe with a dark chocolate torte. Wowza.
If you could have coffee with anyone, living or dead, who would it be?
My Great-Grandmother who died at 106. She was a Vaudevillian and lived on the Iron Range for a while.
Where are you to be found when not at Peace Coffee?
Gardening, burley bikerides, playgrounds, dog walks and 4-year-old’s birthday parties.
How’d you find your way to Peace Coffee?
After my first career in Horticulture working in greenhouses, I was looking for a change, a good company, and a way to work closer to home. I had always been a big coffee fan and espresso junkie, but his job actually made my habit an asset.
What’s your favorite fashion faux pas to commit?
Getting dressed in the dark and being surprised by the outcome.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
Southeast Asia, Indonesia would be on my list.
What music keeps you going while at work? I have been enjoying Grizzly Bear and Balkan Beat Box a lot, but really anything that drowns out the bagging and roaster noise.
