What’s your favorite fact about coffee?
I love that coffee provides so much opportunity for connection and ritual in our busy lives! The practice of brewing coffee and taking the time—even just a minute—to enjoy a morning cup persists as a vital daily routine across so many generations and cultures. Catching up with a friend, processing the day’s news, making major life decisions… A lot can happen over a cup of coffee!
What’s your favorite pairing with coffee?
A slow morning and a slice of fresh sourdough bread.
If you could have coffee with anyone, living or dead, who’d it be?
This is a really tough one. Right now, I think my answer is whoever designed my house in the 1920s… I’ve got so many questions! It’d be so interesting to learn how they envisioned the house and compare notes more than ninety years later.
Where are you to be found when not at Peace Coffee?
Usually hanging out with my sweetie and our two senior dogs, digging through thrift store shelves, restoring and renovating my nearly-century-old house, or cooking (and/or eating) lots of delicious vegan food.
What’s your favorite fashion faux pas to commit?
Is anything a faux pas when you’re committed enough? (Honest answer: Socks with Birkenstocks!)
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
I can’t wait to return to Italy. The sights alone are worth it… But I really just want to be back to the homeland of espresso, pizza, and gelato—the perfect trio and ideal daily rotation, if you ask me. Maybe I should throw some pasta in there for balance?
If someone made you into a cartoon or comic character, what would that character’s most prominent feature be?
Very talkative, very sleepy… Probably a big bald head and glasses too, if we’re being honest!
What music keeps you going while at work?
So much! Lately, my heavy rotation has included ‘Gliss Riffer’ by Dan Deacon, ‘Sylvan Esso’ by Sylvan Esso, ‘Shore’ by Fleet Foxes, ‘Mahjong Room’ by Ginger Root, and ‘Sweat Kollecta’s Peanut Butter Traffik Jam’ by Traffik Island.
