Announcing First Edition : A collaboration with the Star Tribune

MINNEAPOLIS – Aug. 23, 2017 – Today we unveil “First Edition,” a signature coffee that commemorates the 150th anniversary of the Star Tribune. It will be available to purchase at the above locations beginning Thursday, August 24th.
First Edition was chosen by Star Tribune employees in a blind taste test where numerous coffees were sampled and evaluated in our cupping lab. This unique, single-origin coffee comes from the northern region of Peru, high in the Andes Mountains, where farmers tend to organic coffee trees that have been in their families for generations. First Edition is a medium roast that offers coffee enthusiasts a sweet, smooth and balanced cup.

In keeping with our community-centric mission, a portion of the proceeds from sales of First Edition will benefit the Minnesota Journalism Center at the University of Minnesota, which was established in 1979 through a gift from the late John Cowles, Sr., chairman of the then Minneapolis Star and Tribune Company, and his wife, the late Elizabeth Bates Cowles. The center aims to improve the practice of journalism, promote interaction between media professionals and the academy, and serve as the outreach arm of the School of Journalism & Mass Communication.
