Blue
Ox Blend
Babe
the Blue Ox, maker of the Mississippi, creator of
10,000 lakes, is now the namesake of our Blue Ox
Blend.
A
combination of old world and new world coffees,
light and dark roasts, this blend hits high and
bright up front then lingers dark and smooth in
the finish.
It
is a post blend that is comprised of our light
roast Ethiopian Sidamo, Colombian Dark roast, and
a small touch of Sumatran Full City. The trick in
this blend is the hand-off of tastes. The
Ethiopian shows up first, bright spicy and fruity
and then hands off the rest of the cup to the
Colombian Dark with its rich chocolate finish,
knitted together throughout the experience by the
syrupy body of the Sumatran. It is not a subtle
blend and I prefer to brew it in a French Press,
the most un-subtle of brewing methods.
If
you know someone who loves coffee, I would
recommend this coffee as a gift in the holiday
season. Some unique Minnesota folklore charm pairs
beautifully with a straight chocolate cake, or
simple shortbread cookies.
Cheers,
Keith
