Espresso Blend

Ahh...the world of espresso. Where do I begin? A roaster’s true signature blend, espresso is more than a roast style, more than an addition to frothed milk. Espresso is where the roast master is given complete artistic license to create unique and elegant blends that dance when introduced to an espresso machine and an expert barista. It’s a tricky business, espresso is supposed to be big and bold and at the same time smooth and sweet. By blending a specific ratio of different beans and then roasting them very deliberately I look for a finished product that has very mellow acidity, nice soft flavors, pleasant sweetness and huge body and crema (the thick foam found on a well poured shot of espresso). What I keep out is any semblance of bitterness, which means we don’t roast our espresso very dark (considered North Italian style).

Enjoying a straight shot of espresso is an acquired taste, but once your pallet becomes accustomed to the massive flavor punch you’ll never look at a mug of coffee the same.

With all that said, our Espresso Blend is a fantastic cup of brewed coffee – it’s very well rounded, has a muted acidity with a deep rich sweet finish.
